Large companies absent MWC 2020 by the coronavirus 0:52
(CNN Spanish) - GSMA, the organizing company of the Mobile World Congress 2020, announced on Wednesday that the event, scheduled to start on February 24 in Barcelona, Spain, has been canceled.
“With all due respect to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has canceled the MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, the concern about travel and other circumstances, make it impossible that the GSMA celebrate the event, ”GSMA said in a statement.
Several companies canceled their participation for fear of the outbreak of the coronavirus. Among those, Facebook, Amazon, Intel, Cisco and Sony.
