Abensberg - A tragic accident occurred in the Abensberg community on Wednesday evening. A 22-year-old was killed, the police said. A 16-year-old was injured moderately.

The 22-year-old drove the Regensburger Strasse from Abensberg in the direction of Kelheim . Shortly before entering the vocational training center , he came off the road for an unknown reason and crashed into a tree . No other road users were involved in the accident.
Due to the impact, the car tore in two. The driver and his passenger got caught in the car and had to be released by the fire department. The 22-year-old died of his serious injuries at the scene of the accident , his passenger (16) suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital . That is what the police said.

“A traffic accident occurred in the Abensberg community area today (Wednesday, February 12, 2020) at around 9:00 pm, in which a 22-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old woman was injured moderately.
At the time of the accident, the man drove his Seat Leon car on Regensburger Strasse from Abensberg towards Kelheim. Shortly before the entrance to the vocational training center, he came to the right of the lane with his own involvement and had hit a tree. The 22-year-old driver died at the scene of the accident. His 16-year-old passenger suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was taken to a hospital. The driver and the passenger were trapped in the car and had to be released from the vehicle. The car suffered total loss of around EUR 18,000.
