Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated that the Syrian forces are fighting terrorists on its soil in Idlib and this is a sovereign right of the state.
"The discussion is not about a conflict in Idlib, but rather about the non-implementation of the Sochi Agreements, and about the obligations that the parties took on themselves in accordance with these agreements," Peskov said in a statement to reporters in Moscow today.
Peskov had confirmed yesterday that the continued terrorist attacks in Idlib despite the Turkish regime's pledge to neutralize them is unacceptable and contrary to the Sochi understandings, while the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the reason for the escalation of tension in the Idlib region is due to Turkey's chronic failure to fulfill its obligations.
