Volkswagen deliveries fell 11.3% in January from January 2019, due in part to the coronavirus epidemic, the German automaker announced on Friday. The group delivered 343,400 vehicles to mainland China and Hong Kong last month. China is Volkswagen's largest market.

Overall, Volkswagen deliveries fell 5.2% to 836,800 vehicles last month. Chinese automakers' association said Thursday that vehicle sales fell nearly a fifth in January, the 19th consecutive month of decline, due to the Lunar New Year holidays and the coronavirus health crisis from Wuhan.
