Beijing (dpa) - The number of infections and deaths from the novel corona virus has risen again in China. As the Beijing Health Commission said on Sunday, 142 patients died of the lung disease named COVID-19, bringing the total number of victims in China to 1,665.

The shipping company first wanted to wait for further tests before commenting.
The American was one of 145 passengers who wanted to fly home via Malaysia, the health agency said. Upon arrival, the woman and her husband were diagnosed with symptoms of the new virus, which is why they were hospitalized. The 83-year-old is now being treated in the isolation ward. The 85-year-old husband, who tested negative, was monitored in the hospital.
The "Westerdam" had completed an odyssey through Asian waters, as several countries had banned the ship from fearing the corona virus. Only Cambodia finally agreed to this. The first of almost 2,300 people in Sihanoukville were finally allowed to leave the cruise ship on Friday.
