A wild guard girl, a passionate cyclist, a knife sharpener and a soldier: these four are the two dream couples in the current Benedictine carnival season.
Benediktbeuern - Sinja Schambeck, soldier in real life, but currently better known as "Princess Sinja I. vo de Beira Camouflage-Schiksen", the carnival is in the blood, because: "Without carnival I wouldn't exist," says the 22nd -year-old. Her parents were the prince couple 25 years ago. Neither had known each other before, but during the carnival it sparked between prince and princess. "And a few years later I was born." Sinja Schambeck's passion for Mardi Gras was practically born. From a young age she danced in the garden, later she trained the dancers - and still does today. To be a carnival princess now describes her as the fulfillment of a great dream.
The 22-year-old master butcher emphasizes that Florian Reßl, who is known as "Prince Florian V. de Beira Messerwetzer", chose her as his princess - she and no one else had been considered for him. Sinja as his princess: That was his condition, because: "She gives me security."
And even if you could think of this sentence: No, the two are not a couple. They used to be as children. But that doesn't matter here. In any case, they have known each other for a very long time, they tell. In addition, they had already completed several dance classes together. "So with us there are no inhibitions when it comes to dancing," says Princess Sinja, who, by the way, was a child princess. At that time she also wanted Florian to be with her prince, but he gave her a basket. "Back then I was still too shy," he apologizes today. Together they are having a lot of fun with the foolish time. "And it is an honor for us to be able to represent Benediktbeuern as a couple of princes," they assure.

This year's teenage princes Julia Harting and Max Sindlhauser alias "Princess Julia I. vo de wuidn Gardemadln" and "Prince Max IV. Of the Beira Radlteam" also feel this honor. But while 13-year-old Julia has been dancing in the guard for many years and always wanted to be a princess, 15-year-old Max has had less to do with carnival so far. Perhaps also because he is actually too busy for that? With mountain biking, skiing, shooting club, fire brigade and all his other interests. That Julia asked him now whether he wanted to be her prince, pleased him straight away. "But I wasn't sure if I would dare to dance and talk in front of an audience." On the other hand: "Carnival prince is only once in a lifetime." So he agreed after a short period of time, and meanwhile dancing even makes him really fun, he says.
Like the large couple of princes, Julia and Max have known each other for many years and get on well - ideal conditions for many successful appearances as Benediktbeurer dream couples of the 2019/20 carnival season. (Fn)
