New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg

The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren

Who moderates?

NBC Lester Holt, Chuck Todd, Hallie Jackson, Vanessa Hauc of Telemundo News and Jon Ralston of The Nevada Independent will moderate the event.

Who failed to qualify?

The representative of Hawaii Tulsi Gabbard

The businessman Tom Steyer

How was the stage decided?

The National Democratic Committee announced in January that there would be no donor threshold for the Nevada debate - which opened the door for Bloomberg, which has not sought to raise funds - to qualify for this debate.

To qualify for Wednesday's debate, an applicant needed either 10% in four national surveys, or in Nevada or South Carolina, or 12% in two surveys that qualify for Nevada or South Carolina. An applicant could also qualify if he received only one delegate from the Iowa committees or the New Hampshire primary. The donor threshold, which previously required applicants to receive donations from a certain number of people, was eliminated.

What happened in the last debate?

The eighth Democratic presidential debate, which was ahead of the New Hampshire primary, became a confrontation against Buttigieg and Sanders, who overcame the field in Iowa. Klobuchar was the most direct in his challenges. But Warren criticized Buttigieg for his response to marijuana arrests in South Bend. Biden strongly criticized Sanders' votes in the 1990s about gun control. Steyer played his most central role in any debate so far, and businessman Andrew Yang, who has since retired, shot Buttigieg.
