The IHK in the district of Ebersberg presents its demands for municipal elections: from cutting red tape to apartments.

The IHK in the district of Ebersberg presents its demands for municipal elections: from cutting red tape to apartments.

District - Better digital infrastructure, sustainable mobility by road and rail, space for commercial and residential purposes, reducing bureaucracy and securing skilled workers. These fields of action were presented on Friday by Sonja Ziegltrum-Teubner, chair of the Ebersberg regional committee of the Chamber of Commerce in Munich and Upper Bavaria (IHK) in Parsdorf.

In the run-up to the local elections, the demands on the district and mayor candidates in the larger municipalities are to be sent. Some of the topics are not new, said Ziegltrum-Teubner. "But they still haven't worked through."

IHK: Shortage of skilled workers is the biggest problem

According to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, companies in the region see the greatest risk for economic development in the continuing shortage of skilled workers. There are a number of approaches by the IHK. Among other things, it is about the appreciation of training occupations. Means: Not everyone has to study. Ziegltrum-Teubner pointed out the high dropout rate. Another approach: flexible offers for children and those in need of long-term care, especially to get women into work. Ziegltrum-Teubner says that the rooms for childcare are often there. But the staff was missing. And you often only get that if you can offer affordable living space. "This is the best point to get employees at all." An IHK approach: "We have to think about densification when living". Not everything has to be broad. "We do not advocate showing areas without end." Existing areas would have to be used consistently. "But you can't say that nothing works anymore." The need for business and living continues. Ziegltrum-Teubner commented on the new large commercial settlements in the community of Vaterstetten north of the motorway, to which a company from Munich, among other things, would like to relocate: “I am excited to see where everyone will live in the future. They won't always commute ”.

Sonja Ziegltrum-Teubner: Mobility is an important topic

In contrast, there is another problem: "I cannot designate residential areas and I don't care how people get to work," says Ziegltrum-Teubner. It's about mobility. The IHK welcomed the new express bus, which connects Poing with the exhibition city East, as an alternative to the overloaded S-Bahn. This model can also be implemented in the southern district. "Not every hamlet has to be reached." But express buses would be useless if they were stuck in traffic. In public transport, the means of transport should be coordinated. "The timing must be right."

Ebersberger Landkreis: WLAN important for economic development

Another concern is the expansion of the digital infrastructure. "Today everyone who stays in a hotel expects to have WiFi," says Ziegltrum-Teubner. And the IHK is concerned with cutting red tape. More online solutions would have to be offered in the administrations instead of having to draw a waiting number or make an appointment. In some areas, the new rules on data protection had overshot the target.

The IHK regional committee represents the 11 140 companies belonging to the IHK in the district.
