Two people died over the weekend in the outbreak of the Corona virus in northern Italy - ANSA News Agency reported on Saturday. So far, 30 infections have been reported in the north of the country, with 27 of them discovered in Lombardy, Italy's financial and industrial heart.

Last night, he passed away at 78, in the city of Padua, northern Italy, after contracting the Corona virus and becoming the first Italian victim of the disease. The second killed, also in his 70s, a neighbor of neighboring Lombardy County. Health authorities on Friday announced 15 new cases of the Lombardy virus and two in neighboring Veneto, which also has Padua. What heightens the panic is the fact that no new infectious agents in the country have ever visited China - the epicenter of the virus outbreak.

Media outlets in Italy reported that the first killed lived in the town of Vientjo, and was hospitalized two weeks ago. "We have invested in rigorous means of disinfecting around Vianjno," wrote Luca Zaya, Governor of the region on Facebook. In neighboring Lombardy, authorities have banned all public events and closed schools in several small towns southeast of the Milan's financial capital. "We have prepared a plan in the last few days because it was clear that what was happening could happen," Italian Health Minister Roberto Safranza told reporters.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on the sidelines of the EU conference in Brussels that he would meet the heads of the Italian Civil Defense Agency and that the situation was under control. However, he said things before he learned about the first killer in the country. "We were prepared (for the outbreak). People don't have to worry and we will take more serious precautions," he said.

Italy also reported that the first patient in Lombardy, a 38-year-old man from Lodi town, contracted after meeting a friend who recently visited China. That person has since been tested and found not to have the virus, but doctors are looking into whether he carried the virus and then recovered without showing any symptoms. The pregnant woman of the first patient and one of his friends became infected with the virus, along with three other people who were hospitalized for the night, suffering from pneumonia-like symptoms. Subsequently, officials said five health workers who came in contact with the virus carriers were sick.

Zaya said it was unclear how the two people in the Vento area may have contracted the disease. "They certainly had no contact with the people infected with Lodi," he added. Before the weekend, three cases of virus infection were reported in Italy, including two Chinese tourists from Wahan infected with the virus in Rome in late January, and an Italian returning home on a special flight from Wahan, along with about 56 citizens from the same city, and was admitted a week later.

After the first infestations, Italy suspended all direct flights to and from China, in a move that angered the Chinese government. "Diplomatic and economic issues are fundamental, but health is in first place," Safranza said as he announced the government's latest steps.

The Italian Ministry of Health has instructed anyone entering Italy after visiting the affected areas of China to stay home under surveillance. So far, more than 75,000 people have been infected in China and more than 2,000 people have died, most of them in Hubei Province and Wuhan city.
