Pope Francis appointed the Polish Miroslaw Adamczyk, current apostolic nuncio in Panama, as his new ambassador of the Holy See in Argentina . Confirmation comes after the visit of President Alberto Fernández to Francisco and the appointment of diplomat María Fernanda Silva as ambassador to the Vatican.
Adamczyk, a new apostolic nuncio in Argentina, was born in Gdansk, Poland, on July 16, 1962, and will thus occupy the vacant apostolic nunciature since the death last June of Congolese Leon Kalenga.
The new nuncio was ordained a priest on May 16, 1987, is awarded in Canon Law and served in the Diplomatic Service of the Holy See since 1993, the Vatican reported this Saturday by distributing its curriculum to the press.
Pope Francis appointed the Polish monsignor Miroslaw Adamczyk as ambassador of the Vatican in Argentina.
In addition to having served in the apostolic nunciatures in Madagascar, India, Hungary, Belgium, South Africa and Venezuela, he was apostolic nuncio in Liberia, Gambia and Sierra Leone.
The appointment of the apostolic nuncio completes the cadre of representatives in the bilateral relationship that, on the Argentine side, has confirmed diplomat María Fernanda Silva as future ambassador to the Holy See.
Miroslaw Adamczyk will arrive in the country amid the imminent sending of the project of voluntary termination of pregnancy to Congress, which has a strong rejection of the Church.
