One of those present also wants to have seen him in the “Arena Bar & Café”. He is said to have bought water there. It appears that he has spied out the target.
A Tunisian, who only wants to be called Bekir, shows a photo of a graffito in a passage, less than 50 meters from the crime scene. Someone sprayed Tobias R.'s web address on the wall. Bekir says that he noticed the strange lettering some time ago. He walks through the passage every day and marine animals are painted on the opposite wall. "I teach the kids what they're called," says Bekir. The web address has now been painted over with gray paint.
Hanau: Deep uncertainty among citizens with a migration background
"I will leave Germany," says Bekir, who has lived here for over 20 years. He works as a courier. He no longer feels safe, he says. Rumors are spreading. Bekir wonders if Tobias R. was really just a single offender. He plays a voice message. Someone says that he was threatened with the pistol the day before the attack. It was not Tobias R. But Bekir is also playing a recording on which someone reports before an upcoming Nazi march in Hanau * - proven to be a hoax.
The first shock fades away. What remains is profound uncertainty. Passers-by stop at the Brothers Grimm Memorial , some bring flowers and candles. The perplexity is palpable. At the vigil, people hold hands and form a chain.

The still strikingly strong police presence also causes uncertainty. Team cars drive through the city, stopping, sometimes on side streets that, according to what is known, are unrelated to the crime. The Heumarkt , one of the crime scenes, is still cordoned off. Apparently not all traces have been secured at the crime scene. The spook is not over yet.
A restaurant owner reports that he has hardly slept since the attack. He lives with his family in one of the corner houses on Heumarkt. His children heard the shots and heard the chaos that followed. Nevertheless, he is open, entertaining his lunch guests. "Maybe I should have allowed the restaurant," he says. "But if everyone closes now - normality has to come back again."
