The Taufkirchner waited a long time for this news, many had almost given up hope. But now he has been found - a new host for the restaurant in the sports park.
Taufkirchen - Nine applicants presented their concept for the old Köglwirt in a closed session in the municipal council. And one, or rather two, surprised the municipal councilors, according to Mayor Ullrich Sander (impartially), and knocked them off with their concept: the Zinner brothers.
The brothers have been very successful so far
You have been running the Zinners in the Ritter-Hilprand-Hof for several years. The restaurant is very popular and has already been commended in restaurant guides and food magazines. The brothers Sebastian and Ferdinand Zinner are also very successful with Zinners Catering. With Zinners Daily, they ensure the good and healthy nutrition of children and adolescents in several daycare centers and schools such as the Grünwald high school and the Walter Klingenbeck Realschule in Taufkirchen.
Burgers and bowls
And they also came up with something special for the sports restaurant: According to Sander, burgers and bowls will probably be on the menu. Two terms behind which there is a variety of options - fresh, regional, vegetarian or something for meat lovers.
The restaurant was closed in summer 2018
The Zinners themselves do not want to comment yet - the contract has not yet been signed. But, according to Sander, it's only a matter of form. Athletes in particular will be delighted when the pub with its beer garden is open again in summer. It had been closed since summer 2018. The last landlord had given notice because he closed more and more often because of too few guests, but the community insisted on regular operating hours. He only took over the old Köglwirt in March 2017. The restaurant had also been empty for a year before.
The opening could be in May
The local council had been concerned with the subject for some time. There had already been discussions with possible hosts in spring 2019. At the end of May, the municipal council decided to open a public tender. The most promising applicant canceled in October. Last week there was another applicant run. But this time with greater success. According to Sander, the restaurant is to be rebuilt, for example, a wall will be broken open to the south and an output will be made to the stadium. Everything else will be discussed with the Zinners during an inspection. Sander would like the restaurant to open in May.
