The foci of COVID-19 , the disease caused by the new coronavirus, continued to spread outside of mainland China, fueling worldwide suspicion and fears of a pandemic.

In total there are already 38 countries that register confirmed cases .

Around the world, about 80 thousand cases have been confirmed, with new infections being added daily. The majority, about 77 thousand, are in China. So far 2,600 people have died.

South Korea is the country with the highest number of cases after China: more than 900. On Tuesday alone, the country confirmed 144 new cases, bringing the total to 977.

Italy is next with the number of cases: with 283 infected to this Tuesday. The cases occurred in the north of the country, where several locations were isolated and quarantined.

This Tuesday, however, a case was registered in Palermo, in the south of the country. This is a woman who came from the north and was isolated by the group of people who accompanied her.

Japan is listed, which in this case the number of infections was multiplied by receiving a cruise ship with infected passengers coming from China weeks ago.

Then follows Iran, a case that worries greatly because it is suspected that the country is not providing the actual numbers of infections.

Iran, which has porous borders with the entire Middle East, can be a center of contagion to other countries with poor health systems .

Iranian Health Minister Iraj Harirchi himself became infected. It thus became one of 96 confirmed cases in the Islamic nation, of which 15 died. Jordan, for example, has already banned the entry of non-Jordanians from Iranian soil.

In the United States there are 53 cases, many of them repatriated from affected areas outside the country and quarantined in army bases.

The list of affected countries also includes Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, Vietnam, United Kingdom, Arab Emirates, France, Canada, Macau, Kuwait, Philippines, Spain, India, Russia and Bahrain.

They continue with only one case: Israel, Cambodia, Sweden, Egypt, Belgium, Nepal, Sir Lanka, Finland, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Oman, Israel and Iraq.

After noon on Tuesday, Switzerland, Austria and Croatia confirmed their first coronavirus infections. In the case of Austria and Croatia, these are three patients in total whose health status is not serious and in all cases they are originally or have recently been in northern Italy , where the strongest outbreak in Europe is recorded Covid-19.

In the case of Switzerland, the health authorities confirmed a first case of COVID-19 in the canton of Ticino, bordering Italy.
