Braian Toledo dies in an accident 4:22

(CNN Spanish) - Argentine athlete Braian Toledo died Thursday in a motorcycle accident.

Toledo drove his motorcycle and impacted with an unevenness on public roads; after the coup he was fired and fell on the sidewalk, a judicial source confirmed to CNN. The incident occurred in Marcos Paz, where he was originally from, a city located 48 km from Buenos Aires.

Toledo was 26 years old and his specialty was the javelin throwing, a discipline in which he began to stand out at age 15.

It occupied a very important place in the Olympic world. He won the gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore 2010. He was a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara in 2011.

He had an outstanding performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games and agreed to the final of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

The athlete was preparing for his next Olympic date at the High Performance Center (CENARD) in the city of Buenos Aires.

Gerardo Werthein, president of the Argentine Olympic Committee, wrote on Twitter: “We have lost a great person, our dear Braian Toledo. Extraordinary athlete, humble, generous and always supportive of
the rest".

The specialists consulted by CNN pointed to Toledo as Argentina's greatest promise to win the podium at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

His death truncates that possibility, leaves a huge void and mourns the sport of Argentina.
