24 people were injured today as a result of the overturning of a passenger train in Marsa Matruh, from Alexandria, in the Sidi Abdel Rahman area in northern Egypt.
The Egyptian Railways Authority stated that during the course of Train No. 654, the developer coming from Alexandria to Matruh, the train tractor and the first three cars were derailed between the two stations of Sidi Abdel Rahman and Ghazal in the Kabbari line, Matrouh, adding that 24 people were injured in the accident, while no deaths were recorded.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health raised the state of maximum preparedness in Matrouh hospitals, and the injured were transferred to the neighboring hospitals.
