Like Le Havre, where Les Républicains were unable to present a candidate, nearly fifteen municipalities of 10,000 to 100,000 inhabitants find themselves in the same situation. This is the case for Foix, Guéret, Auch, Échirolles, Saint-Herblain, Cahors, Mende, Nevers, Wattrelos, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Liévin, Saint-Denis, Goussainville, Sarcelles… and Tourcoing, the city of Gérald Darmanin . So many situations which are explained by local realities: strong anchoring of the left, absence of leader to lead the LR list, local divisions or militant federation weakened after the various national defeats.
