Syrian state-run news agency "Sana" reported tonight that Israeli combat helicopters attacked several positions of the Syrian army near the town of Contra in the Syrian Golan.
Three Syrian Army soldiers are reported to have been wounded in the attack. Reports of assault come just hours after a senior Hezbollah official was liquidated south of Hadar village, north of Kunitra. Social network officials have argued that this is a thwarting of an elimination response attempt.
Syrian media have accused Israel of assaulting Hezbollah activists, claiming the attack was carried out by an Israeli UAV that fired a missile that hit the operative's vehicle, Imad Twill, a resident of Hadar.
"The Syrian Center for Human Rights" reported that as an Israeli UAV attacked the vehicle while entering Khadr in the area of Kunitra. According to information obtained by the center, the Israeli attack was aimed at a vehicle belonging to the "Syrian resistance to the Golan liberation", leading to his death.
