The Israeli Supreme Court authorizes surrogacy for gay couples

The Supreme Court wrote in its ruling that "the legislature has 12 months to end discrimination against same-sex couples and single men" regarding the right to use surrogacy. "We won! Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's allied parties, including ultra-Orthodox parties, have strongly opposed GPA in the past for gay people and single men. The leader of the centrist Blue-white party Benny Gantz, main rival of Benjamin Netanyahu, reacted Thursday by affirming that "only his government could make pass a law" in conformity with the decision of the Supreme Court.
