District - The storm depression "Bianca" led to closures on individual routes of Deutsche Bahn during the night on Friday. So the traffic on the Werdenfelsnetz was set. Due to fallen trees, the fire departments in the northern district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen moved out. The southern part was spared storm damage.
Due to violent gusts, the fire department concentrated its work in the Murnau area. Michael Meyr, head of the Integrated Control Center Oberland, confirmed 13 missions, whereby the district was "least affected" compared to Weilheim-Schongau and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. From 8.30 p.m., the weir was called to twelve technical assistance services for trees on the road, including in Hechendorf, Seehausen, Uffing and Großweil. In addition, a wood partition burned in Ohlstadt. A biowaste container had ignited for an unknown cause. The damage amounts to approximately 1500 euros. According to Meyr, the local fire department left the scene of the fire after 15 minutes.
Impairments on the rail network
A lucky driver was lucky on the 2062 state road near Schwaiganger. While driving, a tree crashed into the street a few meters in front of his car. The driver could not avoid it and drove directly against the tree. He suffered a shock, but was otherwise unharmed, causing great damage to the car. The fire department blocked the state road and removed the tree with chainsaws.
In contrast, the night was quiet in the south of the district. "No missions, zero," says Peter Gröbl, commander of the Garmisch fire department. "There was nothing here," confirms Jürgen Behl from the Mittenwald police inspection.

The storm caused impairments on the rail network. Around 9.45 p.m. on Thursday evening, the Weilheim-Murnau route was closed due to a tree on the track. Trains from Garmisch-Partenkirchen only ran to Murnau. As a precaution, the Deutsche Bahn had decided not to resume train traffic in the Werdenfels network until 6.30 a.m. The Munich-Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald-Tutzing, Kochel-Murnau and Oberammergau-Garmisch-Partenkirchen routes were also affected. In the morning, train traffic in the Werdenfels network in the areas of Murnau-Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald-Innsbruck and Reutte-Griesen was resumed. Weilheim-Murnau and Murnau-Oberammergau were still closed until Friday evening.
