Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed the necessity of eradicating terrorism in Idlib governorate, respecting the territorial integrity of Syria and preserving the Astana path around Syria.
Rouhani said in a phone call today with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: "The issue of Idlib is very complicated, given the gathering of dangerous terrorists in it," stressing the necessity of eliminating them and focusing on the agreement on the foundations of Syrian territorial integrity and uprooting the roots of terrorism.
Rouhani pointed out the special importance of strengthening the course of the Astana process around Syria, calling for it not to be weakened.
The Syrian Arab Army units are responding to attacks by terrorist groups with the support of the Turkish regime forces on the Saraqib axis in the southeastern Idlib countryside, and they have suffered major losses of personnel and equipment.
