Health Minister Melanie Huml (CSU) has not yet taken drastic measures in the fight against the corona virus - but she has detailed recommendations. OB Reiter also reacts.

  • Health Minister Melanie Huml (CSU) made recommendations in the fight against the corona virus in Bavaria
  • For trade fairs with more than 1000 participants, exhibitors from Corona risk areas should be unloaded
  • Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) has convened a staff for extraordinary events (SAE).

Munich - Munich's uncertainty is growing: While disinfectants are becoming scarce in many drugstores and pharmacies, others are already hampering food. Until Friday afternoon (February 28th), no new case of infection had become known in Munich, but the trace of the virus leads here to several infected people. While Switzerland has canceled all major events, Bavaria has decided not to take drastic measures. Bavaria's Minister of Health Melanie Huml (CSU) , however, recommends after a meeting of cabinet members on Friday:

For trade fairs with more than 1000 participants, exhibitors from corona risk areas should be unloaded. The first organizers are already showing skepticism: the HiFi fair High End 2020, which was planned from May 14 to 17, was canceled. The organizers of the international craft fair expect the industry get-together to start on March 11th. Chancellor Merkel (CDU) should also drop by.

For people returning from the Carnival holidays at the weekend - including from Italy, where there are currently the most corona infected people in Europe - information material on the virus is said to be on planes and trains.

Coronavirus in Bavaria: This should be considered by returnees from high-risk areas

Returnees from areas at risk of coronavirus should pay attention to symptoms such as coughing or runny nose for 14 days. You should not then go to the doctor's office, but call your family doctor or the on-call health service on 116 117.

If someone knows that they have had contact with a corona infected person , they should report to the health department.

Corona virus in Bavaria in Munich: contain the number of infected people through hygiene

In order to curb the number of people infected with the coronavirus *, Huml demands to take care of their own hygiene: wash hands with soap, cough in the crook of the arm, do not sneeze directly at anyone.

Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD ) convened a staff for extraordinary events (SAE) on Friday. Should the situation change dramatically, the National Influenza Pandemic Plan would take effect. He recommends that the sick be treated as an outpatient for as long as possible and that only influenza patients be given inpatients with risk factors and a severe course of the disease.
