MOSCOW-SANA, Russian Presidency spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed today that no forces on Syrian territory are present

Moscow-Sana

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed today that the presence of any forces on Syrian soil without the approval of its government is illegal.

In a television interview today, Peskov clarified that Russian forces are present in Syria on a legal basis at the request of the Syrian government.

The Russian Air Force has been involved since September 30, 2015, at the request of the Syrian Arab Republic, in supporting the efforts of the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorist organizations.

On the other hand, Peskov indicated that Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during their meeting in Moscow this week the implementation of the Sochi Agreements on Idlib.

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, confirmed during a press conference the day before yesterday that the Turkish regime has not implemented its obligations under the Sochi Agreements on Idlib and must implement them.
