Paris-SG will face the Romanians from Bucharest in the round of 16 of the Handball Champion's League and Montpellier the Germans from Flensburg. PSG finished the group stage in second place in group A (11 wins, 3 losses) after an easy success over the Croatians from Zagreb 37 to 26 Sunday at Coubertin in a match without stake. Dinamo Bucharest, from “low hens”, a sort of 1B division of the event, qualified by eliminating the Portuguese from Sporting Lisbon in the jump-off.
The Spanish from Barcelona and the Germans from Kiel won their group and went directly to the quarter-finals. If the Parisians will be arch favorites in the eighth, this will not be the case of the Montpellier against Flensburg, the current second in the Bundesliga. But this opponent will bring back fond memories to the MHB, which had eliminated the Germans in the quarterfinals in 2018 before winning the title in the Final Four. Montpellier will have the small advantage of receiving in the return match, like Paris.
