The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that Russia cannot guarantee the security of Turkish aviation in Syria after closing the airspace over Idlib.
"In these circumstances, the Russian military leadership cannot guarantee the safety of Turkish aviation in Syria," Major General Oleg Goravlov told reporters.
The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces announced earlier today that the airspace has been closed over the northwestern region of Syria, especially over Idlib Governorate, and any aircraft that penetrate our airspace will be treated as a hostile flight that must be shot down and prevented from achieving its aggressive goals.
Today, Syrian Arab Army units shot down 3 drones of the Turkish regime during their operations against terrorist organizations on the axis of its operations in Idlib countryside, and the air defenses also repelled this evening several anti-drones in the city of Hama.
