(CNN Spanish) - Chilean President Sebastián Piñera announced the first case of coronavirus in Chile: “We are prepared for this epidemic,” said Piñera.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health said it is a 33-year-old person "with a travel history for a month in different countries in Southeast Asia, particularly in Singapore."

In Singapore there are 110 confirmed cases and none deceased, says the ministry.

The person is in the Talca Hospital “in good general health conditions and will be discharged, but under epidemiological surveillance at home,” says the ministry.

A case in Argentina was also confirmed on Tuesday.
