(CNN) - The British rock band Genesis confirmed that it is working for a tour in 2020, the first in 13 years.
Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford made the announcement during an appearance on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 show on Wednesday morning.
Revealing details of their return tour, they said they will do a series of shows across the United Kingdom later this year.

The trio, the band's classic lineup, will be accompanied on drums by Collins' son, Nicholas, 18, and former partner Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass.
Peter Gabriel, a founding member who left the band in 1975, will not participate.
Before the announcement, the band released a strong clue that something was brewing by posting a photo of Collins, Banks and Rutherford on Genesis Instagram, along with the text: "And then there were three", which is also the name from his first album as a trio, released in 1978 after the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett.

Formed in 1967 at Charterhouse boarding school in Surrey, England, Genesis enjoyed worldwide recognition with successes that include "Invisible Touch", "I Can't Dance" and "Throwing It All Away."
Collins joined the group as a drummer in 1970, before becoming the lead singer after Gabriel's departure. The band broke up in 1996 and Collins concentrated on his solo career.
Genesis was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.

The band last performed in 2007, when they celebrated their 40th anniversary with the Turn It On Again tour. At that time, Collins said the tour will be the final farewell.
In 2018 Collins, who has had several health problems, told Rolling Stone magazine that he would consider a meeting on the condition that his son Nicholas play the drums, because "I don't think he's capable of doing it."
