Chairman Yisrael Beiteinu has declared that he will support the law that will not allow MKs against whom they are accused of forming a government, but only a few months ago it sounded completely different

Yisrael Beiteinu met Thursday, led by MK Avigdor Lieberman, the chairman of the faction, to support the initiative that prevents the MK from being indicted to serve as prime minister in Israel.

In a statement issued by the faction, it was stated that "at the end of the faction meeting, it was decided to promote two laws. The first law that restricts the term of two prime ministers. The second law that prevents an MK from being charged with forming a government," the statement said.

Lieberman's position and faction seem to make sense at least politically, given the rift between the blocs and the ugly personal election campaign the state has known in recent months. But only in November of last year, Knesset Lieberman wrote on his Facebook page another position in which he expressed opposition to the law.

Lieberman then wrote that "since September 17, Israel Yisrael has rejected various proposals that came to unilateral moves, which could hurt negotiations for the establishment of a government, such as support for a law preventing an MK who is accused of running for prime minister and replacing Yu" The Knesset. We did this for two reasons: 1. We strongly oppose unilateral disputes during a transition period, before a coalition is formed. 2. This is a personal law approach that we in principle support Israel in our home. "

Lieberman reiterated these remarks in another post on his Facebook page on November 11 in which he wrote: "I have no personal motive and no vigilance against him. In the last election campaign I have repeatedly said that as long as there is no ruling by the prime minister, I can continue to fulfill His role. "

"At the end of the election campaign, we were offered to pass a law that prevents a Knesset against whom he is accused of running for prime minister. I said we would oppose it because it is a personal law. We were then offered to replace the Knesset Speaker and we did not agree. In my outline, I said that in accordance with President Netanyahu's outline, he will serve first as prime minister. Therefore, every sensible person understands that I act logically, responsibly and in the state, without any personal consideration. Also in a successful interview on Reina on October 26, 1919, Lieberman said that he opposes the law mainly during the Knesset transition, "Contact me let's avoid a Knesset who has an indictment to appoint. I do not support this because during the transition period it is impossible to pass legislation that is controversial," he wrote. Lieberman.

Why did Avigdor Lieberman's position change? This question is interesting but probably related to the black cat that passed between Lieberman and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lieberman, who Lieberman gained in his role as defense minister under Netanyahu. Over time, Lieberman repeatedly expressed himself against the prime minister, and it seems that the understanding that he will not be able to topple the elections has pushed the chairman of Israel Betinu to our current position.
