Summoned by the courts to agree, Intermarché and Netto, of the Les Mousquetaires group, signed an agreement on Wednesday with Coca-Cola European Partners.

There will be Coca-Cola on the Intermarché and Netto shelves. The two brands - which are part of the same group - have reached an agreement with Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP, distributor of Coca products in France) as part of the annual commercial negotiations which have recently ended, revealed the magazine specialized LSA. Information confirmed in Figaro by the two groups.

In early January, we learned that Coca-Cola no longer delivered its products to the group's supermarkets due to a commercial disagreement. The reason ? Intermarché wanted to reference fewer products from the American group on its shelves, in order to promote " better eating ". Of the group's 90 references, Intermarché aimed “ more like an assortment divided by two ”, in the words of its president Thierry Cotillard at the microphone of Radio Classique on March 2. Coca-Cola would have, in reaction, stopped all its deliveries of products to Intermarché and Netto. A reading of the events denied by the multinational, which justifies the cessation of its deliveries by the expiration of the contract with Intermarché.

This conflict had brought the two entities to justice, which had ordered CCEP to resume delivery of its products, and the two companies to find an agreement. On March 4, Coca-Cola and Intermarché therefore finally reached an agreement, with a slight delay on the theoretical end of the annual negotiations, set for March 1.

" This agreement allows Intermarché to implement the brand's choices in favor of 'eating better', by offering more healthier alternatives on its shelves, " commented the distributor . Intermarché is delighted with this agreement which definitively closes the 2020 trade negotiations campaign. ”The contract with Coca-Cola was indeed the only missing for Intermarché for the year 2020. Contacted by Le Figaro , Intermarché’s communication was not for the moment unable to communicate the precise content of this agreement.

On the Coca-Cola side, a spokesperson confirms to Le Figaro that he “ signed an agreement on Wednesday. " We have found a balanced agreement between the different parties," he continues. We are delighted. ” If he refuses to give further details on this arrangement, he still indicates that " Coca-Cola products are available to Intermarché, we will resume the thread of the usual relations with one of our customers.
