The French Ministry of Health today announced the death of five people due to infection with the Corona virus, which raises the death toll in the country to 16.
Agence France-Presse quoted Director-General of Health Jerome Salomon as saying that 54 people infected with the virus are in intensive care, six more than the outcome announced yesterday.
In the United States, Governor of the New York State, Andrew Como, announced in a press conference today the state of emergency in the state due to the spread of the Corona virus, which has infected 76 people on its soil.
The US health authorities also recorded 396 injuries, including 17 deaths, as of this evening, while the American military command announced that a US naval component was infected with the emerging virus in the first American military injury in Europe.
To that, Italy counted 36 new deaths from the Corona virus in 24 hours, raising the total death toll to 233, while the number of infections rose to 5883, according to an official toll released by the Italian health authorities.
Italian media have quoted the Italian authorities as saying that they will put the cities of Milan, Venice and other areas under quarantine due to the outbreak of the virus.
In Tokyo, the Japanese newspaper Asakhi reported the death of one of the passengers on the cruise ship, "Princess of Diamonds", the epicenter of this outbreak across the country, noting that this brings the death toll from the ship's passengers due to corona to 7 and the total number of victims of the virus in Japan to 13 people.
The Japanese health authorities also confirmed 429 cases, including 61 critical cases.

In the Arab countries, the Lebanese State University Hospital announced that the number of people living with HIV in the country had risen to 28.
In Cairo, Egyptian Minister of Health Dr. Hala Zayed announced that there are 33 confirmed cases of corona virus on board a ship in Luxor in the country, noting the ministry's intention to distribute a corona virus detector at all airports in the country.
And in Iraq, the Ministry of Health and Environment announced today the confirmation of the diagnosis of nine new confirmed cases of the virus today, seven of them in Baghdad, the eighth in Najaf and the ninth in Erbil, northern Iraq.
For its part, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health denied reports of the death of a Kuwaiti woman with the Corona virus.
