The corona virus has reached a major bank in Munich. One person who works for the company has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

Second case within a few days at HypoVereinsbank: company takes precautions
Update, 1:01 p.m .: HypoVereinsbank is currently reporting a second case to our editorial team, which the company announced on Friday (March 6) . Accordingly, another HVB person has contracted the virus. It was tested positive for the coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2) .
Here, too, the bank has taken all of the precautions described below. The offices, this time on the ground floor and also at the Tucherpark in Munich , were cleared, blocked and disinfected. The person is under quarantine under medical supervision.
Here, too, all employees who were in contact with the person were sent home.
First report, Sunday, March 8th, 9.09am: Munich - rumors have been leaking from the company's headquarters for some time. On Thursday (March 5) , HypoVereinsbank made it official in a press release: A person who had their office on the first floor of the so-called TZ building at the Tucherpark in Munich has Covid-19 .
The person apparently works for a bank service provider who is housed there. The HypoVereinsbank does not write where the person has contracted the coronavirus * . Only that the case was reported to her on Wednesday (March 4th).
Coronavirus in Munich: HypoVereinsbank reacts with drastic measures
The person is under medical supervision and the company is in close contact with her. Furthermore, HypoVereinsbank immediately initiated several measures :
- As a precaution, HypoVereinsbank immediately closed the affected room.
- The relevant parts of the building have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and the affected room remains closed until further notice.
- In addition, HypoVereinsbank contacted all employees who may have been in close contact with the infected person recently and advised them to go into self-quarantine for 14 days and follow the instructions of the health authorities.
Corona virus at HypoVereinsbank: companies with close ties to Italy and Eastern Europe
As is well known, HypoVereinsbank belongs to an Italian financial group, which means it has extensive contacts with the European country that is currently hardest hit by the corona virus. The company also has an extensive network in many Eastern European countries, where the actual number of coronavirus infections is handled with little transparency.
This is probably one of the reasons why the bank activated far-reaching measures before the current case became known:
- HypoVereinsbank has activated its safety and health protocols and will continue to monitor the situation in the affected regions carefully
- HypoVereinsbank encourages its employees to use alternative work solutions, such as working from home
- Employees who have been in or visited the risk areas in the past two weeks must, if possible, work from home. If this is not possible, you will receive paid vacation. They may not go to their usual place of work.
