The International Department of State's Attorney once again asked the District Court in Jerusalem this morning to determine as soon as possible a hearing on Queen Liper's extradition to Australia, where she is suspected of serious sex offenses in her students. In addition, the Prosecutor's Office asked the court to set a time for a decision in the extradition petition.

The motion filed this morning is the fourth application on the matter, and according to the State Attorney's office, no decision has yet been made as to the next hearing. Although the court referred to the petitioner's request in its decision dated 19.2.2020 and referred to the dates that the court ordered the parties to reserve in their diaries in favor of this proceeding, however, it was not stated that these proceedings will be completed.

The Prosecutor's Office further argued that the delay in the extradition proceedings is causing international damage to Israel, which is perceived as not respecting the international commitment it has undertaken in the extradition agreement between the states.

Recall, against Leiper, are complaints filed by eight of her students at an ultra-Orthodox school in Melbourne about sexual assaults and rape crimes she committed while taking advantage of her position as head of the educational institution. Leiper arrived in Israel in 2008, after one of her students filed a complaint against her. She found refuge in the ultra-Orthodox community in the city of Emanuel when, at the same time, she was indicted in Australia, which includes 74 counts of committing sex offenses. An arrest warrant has been issued against Leifer and Australia is demanding extradition. However, the Lifer defense team claims to be mentally ill and unable to stand trial.

In 2019, the police made a recommendation to prosecute Minister of Health Jacob Litzman for committing witnesses' impeachment, fraud and breach of trust. Minister Litzman was suspected of acting in favor of Leiper and allegedly influenced psychiatrists to issue an opinion that would prevent her from being extradited.
