Philip Behler takes over the "Shelter Pub" on the Tölzer Salzstraße. The concept is to be retained, but is planning an innovation.

Bad Tölz - Even during school, Philip Behler worked in the catering trade and dreamed of having his own bar. At just 25 years old, the Tölzer by birth fulfills this wish: He has been the new tenant of the "Shelter Music Pub" on the Tölzer since Friday Salt road.

As of now, a trained restaurant specialist is behind the counter of the popular pub. Philip Behler learned his profession in the renowned hotel "Vier Jahreszeiten" in Starnberg, and he also trained as a bartender. Behler also worked in service on the cruise ship MS Europa. For a month he sailed through the South Pacific and New Zealand. "I've always wanted to do that," says Philip Behler, whose face many may already know from the "Jailhouse". There he most recently worked as a bartender. "Unfortunately, I can no longer continue," Behler regrets. But the joy outweighs the fact that taking over the "Shelter Music Pub" is a "great honor" for the Tölzer.

The new tenant does not want to change the concept. "There will continue to be live bands and of course the pub quiz too." Philip Behler will also be offering gin and whiskey tasting to appeal to an even larger audience. "I want all age groups and all classes to feel comfortable with me." As a bartender, he naturally also introduces a small cocktail menu. From April, the newcomer also wants to open his shop on Thursday evening - and as usual on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Behler's predecessor Sebastian Sixt stops because he wants to concentrate entirely on his yurt village at the foot of the Blomberg (we reported). Sixt had only started looking for a successor a few weeks ago. Philip Behler wrote to him - and struck quickly. "I've always wanted to have my own bar."
