Munich - The city of Munich elects the mayor, the city council and also the district committees in the 2020 municipal election in Bavaria . On March 15, voters will receive several ballot papers, with which the various offices are elected independently of one another. If necessary, a run-off election for the post of mayor will also take place on March 29, if no one has achieved an absolute majority in the first ballot.

Result of the mayoral election in Munich
Dieter Reiter from the SPD will take office as the incumbent in the OB election in Munich, who was elected to the top of the Bavarian capital for the first time in 2014. This year the race seems to be more open than ever: The candidate from the Green Katrin Habenschaden and Kristina Frank from the CSU are also given good chances. On March 15, the 25 district committees for each of the city districts are newly elected for Munich. The committees have 15 to 45 members, depending on the size of the district.
