Airlines cancel routes due to coronavirus 1:06
(CNN) - Delta Air Lines announced that due to the coronavirus, it faces worse conditions and makes stronger cuts than after the September 11 terror attacks.
"The speed of the drop in demand is unlike anything we've seen, and we've seen a lot in our business," CEO Ed Bastian wrote in a memo to employees that was obtained by CNN.

The company will make a "40% overall capacity reduction in the coming months, the largest capacity reduction in Delta's history, including 2001," Bastian wrote.
"The situation is fluid and is likely to get worse."
The airline will park up to 300 planes.
