The Bavarian Zugspitzbahn also has to pay tribute to the corona virus: as of Monday, guests will no longer operate on the Zugspitze and in the Garmisch Classic area.

Due to the current developments in neighboring Tyrol, the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG will completely cease operations from Monday until further notice. “There will also be a limit on the number of visitors for the Zugspitze for Sunday. The number of passengers is also limited in the Zugspitze cable car and the glacier cable car, ”said press spokeswoman Verena Lothes. These measures serve as a precautionary measure to curb and control the spread of the coronavirus. It is not yet clear when the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn will start operating again. Local public transport between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau (rack railway and EVG buses) remains guaranteed until further notice.

The mountain railway company is still in close contact with the responsible authorities and informs its guests about current developments.
