There is not much more than the compulsory tasks: the 2020 budget almost completely consumes the Warngau reserves.

There is not much more than the compulsory tasks: the 2020 budget almost completely consumes the Warngau reserves.

Warngau - Solid, realistic, but without much room for maneuver, the Warngau budget for 2020 will be much smaller than the municipality can do this year. This was shown by treasurer Anton Kaunzner's presentation in the local council.

At 7.362 million euros, the asset budget is slightly above the previous year's figure (around 7.1 million euros), but also slightly below the result (around 7.8 million euros). At around EUR 4.1 million, the asset budget is significantly below the previous year (result around EUR 4.8 million). The most important source of income for the municipality continues to be taxes, especially trade and income tax (see box). On the expenditure side, the district allocation (2.4 million euros), building and property maintenance (1.66 million euros) and personnel costs (933 700 euros) are the largest items.

The most expensive project this year is the expansion of the kindergarten Am Kapellenfeld (we reported), which costs around half a million euros. 300,000 euros are earmarked for road construction, the municipality has to pay around 100,000 euros for construction work on the bridge in the Mühltal, the other half is taken over by the municipality of Gmund. The primary schools in Warngau and Wall will also benefit from plenty of money this year. The media equipment will be renewed for a total of 95,000 euros; the renovation of the school yard in Warngau will cost around 60,000 euros. The concept will be presented in the next session. In total, Kämmerer Kaunzner anticipates investments of 1,632,600 euros.

Reserves are shrinking sharply

To cover all upcoming costs, around 1.7 million euros have to be taken from the reserves. This will shrink to around 400,000 euros. "You can see that the reserves have been used up," said Kaunzner. The investments are not insignificant, despite the continued good economic situation. In addition, the community would face projects in the next few years that could not yet be mapped. "When it comes to investments, we have to examine exactly what impact this could have on the years to come," said Kaunzner. Much more than the mandatory tasks are currently not manageable.

Warngau: Heating plant and daycare not deposited at the control center.

Second Mayor Jakob Weiland (CSU), who chaired the meeting for ill town hall chief Klaus Thurnhuber (FWG), explained this using a practical example: "The fire station has not yet been taken into account, although we know that it is urgent." - especially in the Birkerfeld industrial area, which is to be expanded (we reported) - will be sold. Reinhard Bücher (Greens) criticized the fact that 42 percent of the income had to be given in the form of a circular contribution or the like. "In the long run, our ordinary duties cannot be managed with the income," he feared.

Budget passed unanimously

Leonhard Obermüller (CSU) agreed that the levies had to change something. A household can not only be achieved through the sale of land. Engelfried Beilhack (CSU) also found that many property sales were “very healthy politics in the long run”. Max Bauer (FWG) did not see it quite as dramatically. "We cannot do everything at once, it is important to act with foresight."

Ultimately, however, all local councils were satisfied with the budget for the current year and adopted it unanimously.
