US President Donald Trump announced today that he was tested for Corona virus yesterday, noting that the results are "expected in the coming days."
"I was examined yesterday evening," Trump quoted him as telling a White House news conference.
The Brazilian presidency had announced earlier that a Brazilian government official met last weekend with Trump, who was found to be infected with the Corona virus.
In this context, Trump announced that the entry ban to the United States imposed on travelers who were recently in the Schengen countries in Europe will expand its scope to include Britain and Ireland.
Trump responded to reporters' questions about whether the embargo would cover those two countries that had been exempt until now by saying "it will be announced."
Later, US Vice President Mike Pence announced that the flight ban from Britain and Ireland will enter into force next Tuesday.
To that, the White House announced that it will examine from now on, raising the temperature of "all those in close contact" with Trump and his deputy, Mike Pence, as a "precautionary measure" against the Corona virus.
"As a precautionary measure ... the temperature of all people who are in close contact with the president and his deputy will be examined from now on," White House spokesman Judge Dir said in a statement.
Trump announced yesterday the state of emergency in the United States and the suspension of foreign cruises 30 days with the aim of combating the spread of the Corona epidemic.
