The Corona epidemic in Italy has become the world's worst in the last week, with the pace of infection and the number of dead in the boot bypassing China, placing it as the world's most significant outbreak. Now the state is raising the voices of civilians who have been caught in the impossible state.

Dana, an Israeli living in the suburbs of Turin, says that in recent days she has begun to show all the symptoms of covid-19 disease, high fever, difficulty breathing and a coughing disorder. But Dana found out that in a situation created in Italy, where hospitals are undergoing a stream of patients, medical treatment is kept to the difficult cases only.

"I contacted my family doctor, they try not to send anyone to a hospital unless you sound dying and gasp on the phone. She just told me to stay home, 'You're young, you'll survive it,' that's what she told me," she says.

Dana knows that she is not alone, many others have been in Corona but are required to stay in their homes: "My friends, who also show the symptoms of the disease, are home like me. Unless you are at risk or just on the verge of loss, you will not be admitted because they try Not to burden the system that collapses like that, either. "

"Like a Post-Apocalyptic Movie"

The month of March, or "Crazy March," as it is known in Italy, is a spring month when many people in the north are back on the streets and nature, after the cold winter. But instead of a spring celebration, the streets are closed and the only ones wandering around are the police officers who enforce the closure.

"The atmosphere here is like in a post-apocalyptic movie. The streets are empty, almost nobody walks around the streets. Only the supermarkets and pharmacies are open. There is an hour and a half queue for the grocery or supermarket, because they are not allowed to bring more than four people at one time," says Dana.

Due to the large death rate and the great difficulty in controlling the spread of the disease, the authorities take the closure with utmost seriousness. "The police enforce all the laws of isolation," says Dana. You have to have a page that explains what you do to go outside and even then, it's only acceptable if you have to go to work somewhere, or you go shopping. They are really strict about it. It is also permissible to take a short walk with the dog or the children, they understand that the children are freaking out at home, ”she continues.

"The Italians themselves, the public here, abide by the laws. Disciplined, in most cases. On the first day of closure, they only closed certain stores and moved people to work from home, and then we moved to full closure. There is no going out and no coming, all are closed, the police stop to ask anyone who comes out. Getting out of the house is not justified, you are opening a police case. "
