" I regret to announce that as of tomorrow our public schools will be closed, " said Bill de Blasio at a press point. Schools will reopen " as early as April 20, " he added, not ruling out that they may remain closed until the end of the school year.
The Democratic mayor reiterated earlier today that he would do everything to avoid closing the 1,800 public schools, to avoid further disrupting the financial capital of the United States and to put in difficulty all parents who must continue to work and disrupt the health services that employ them.
