The voters of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), 30th city of France, this year again placed Louis Aliot at the head. According to an estimate by the Elabe - Berger Levrault Institute for our newspaper and BFM TV, the deputy Rassemblement national, former companion of Marine Le Pen, would get 36.5% of the vote. He is thus far ahead of the outgoing mayor, Jean-Marie Pujol, who wins 19.5% of the vote.
Arriving at the head in the first round in 2014, Aliot, tried, all the campaign, to widen the traditional electorate of his party by erasing his membership in the RN and by defending a program of "good father". Facing him, Pujol, elected LR and mayor of the city since 2009, opened his list to members of civil society. Among the seven other candidates in attendance, LREM, the MoDem and the UDI have invested Romain Grau while EELV and the PS have opted for the joint candidacy of Agnes Langevine. The first would win 12.4% of the vote, the second 14%.
Abstention is strong, at 60.2% of those registered.

In 2014, in the first round, the Perpignan ensemble list, supported by the Marine Le Pen Rassemblement Bleu marine, came first with 34.19% of the votes, followed by the list of Jean-Marc Pujol (30.67%) . The list of the Left and Citizen Forces of Jacques Cresta collected 11.87%, that of Clotilde Ripoull 9.63%. In the second round, Pujol won the town hall with 55.11%, against Aliot (44.89%).
Three years later, Marine Le Pen came out on top in the first round of the presidential election, with 25.86% of the vote, followed by Jean-Luc Mélenchon (22.72) and Emmanuel Macron (19, 72). The latter took the lead in the second round with 59.71% of the vote, far from the 66.1% obtained nationwide.
