The governorate of Deir Al-Zour has taken a number of precautionary measures to tackle the emerging Corona virus, as the city council sterilized the internal transport buses, taxis, schools, and public institutions in the city today.

The head of the Deir Al-Zour City Council, Engineer Raed Mendil, stated in a statement to SANA correspondent that the city council's workshops are carrying out a comprehensive campaign for sterilization, since today a number of “transport services” buses were sterilized, whether operating on city lines or coming from the province’s rural areas in addition to taxis “taxi” “It also continued to sterilize the buses and mass transit buses in Pullman Garage on a daily basis.

For his part, the Director of Education, Nashat Al-Ali mentioned that the Directorate organized a campaign to clean and sterilize a number of schools, as part of a campaign that includes about 300 schools in the countryside and the city in cooperation between the School Health Department and the Directorate of Agriculture and local councils with the participation of the civil society.

In turn, a member of the executive office of Deir Al-Zour Governorate, Hassan Al-Mughayer, indicated that the campaign included sterilization of public and private bakeries and gas stations, pointing out that the necessity of workers in bakeries to wear masks, gloves and hats during the work period in order to protect citizens and preserve public safety.

In Tartous, the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in the governorate decided to distribute bread in the Syrian galleries for trade and to the accredited distributors, with the aim of reducing congestion and gatherings on the ovens.

Feryal Suleiman, Director of Tartous First Hall, explained in a statement to SANA correspondent that the Syrian Trade through its distributed centers in the governorate has allocated special sections within or near the halls that are affiliated with it to be outlets for selling bread material to citizens in addition to the goods and other materials that it provides in confirmation of the positive intervention policy and keenness to secure Basic materials for citizens.

Samir Al-Darsanli, the owner of one of the private ovens, pointed out that the step contributed to canceling the manifestations of extreme crowding in front of the ovens, while Abdel Hadi considered one of the delegates of the sale of bread material that selling the material away from the crowding of the ovens is an important step in this circumstance.
