Will distance learning be renewed in elementary schools? Last week, the Treasury and the Teachers' Union agreed on forced leave conditions imposed on teachers by the Corona epidemic. It has been decided that teachers who choose to teach remotely will not receive a salary from last Thursday, and these extra days off - connected to the Passover holiday - will be returned on Lag B'Omer, July and the following school year.

However, eliminating distance learning has drawn a lot of criticism from parents and educators, mainly because of the lack of framework. Over the weekend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed his office's general manager, Ronen Peretz, to examine the return of learning remotely through schools, in the classroom settings.

However, it is not yet known when the distance learning in elementary schools will be reinstated and will also be reimbursed, not necessarily to be fully done.

Recall that distance learning in high school will continue, after the local government center and teacher organization announced that online schooling for upper-division students would not be canceled.

Online learning for high school students will take place until Passover, for the benefit of preparing students for the matriculation exams. Teachers' wages will be paid in full, and they will leave for summer vacation as usual.

In the meantime, following the crisis, students will receive a focus for the matriculation exams. Among other things, the material will be reduced by 25 percent, as will the exam focus as it was before. The exam schedule will also be changed: in May they will be selected in the electives and in June in the required subjects: Literature, Bible, Language and History. And other components.
