Coronavirus: a majority of French people trust the government

Some 55% of French people trust the government to " deal effectively with coronavrius ", and 57% to " help businesses in difficulty ", according to an Ifop poll for the JDD published on Sunday.

According to this study, 84% of those polled said they were worried about the coronavirus epidemic, ten points more than last week. Among them, 35% say they are " completely worried ". But 64% of them believe that " the government has withheld certain information " (stable), 48% that it " communicated clearly " (-9 points in a week), 39% that it " gives all the means to infrastructure and health professionals to fight against this virus ”(-15 points). Only 29% consider that he reacted quickly (-14 points).

According to the active people questioned in the study, 38% are arrested during confinement (54% among the “ poor categories ”), 30% always travel to go to work, 27% practice teleworking (43% for the wealthy categories and 41 % for the upper middle classes), and 5% alternate between teleworking and physical presence at their workplace.

Survey carried out online on March 19 and 20 with a representative sample of 1,013 people, using the quota method. Margin of error from 1.4 to 3.1 points.
