Donald Trump announced Sunday that he has ordered the emergency installation of field hospitals, with a total capacity of 4,000 beds, in the states most affected by the coronavirus pandemic: California, New York and Washington.
At a press conference in the White House, the President announced that he "ordered" the American Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to build these federal emergency medicine centers, with 1,000 beds in New York State, the most affected, 2,000 beds in California and 1,000 beds in Washington State.
More than 400 people have died from Covid-19 in the United States, including more than a hundred in the past 24 hours, according to Johns Hopkins University. US officials also warned on Sunday that they will take action against people who stockpile medical supplies, increasing the risk of shortages, for speculative purposes.
These people must put this equipment on the market and ask for "a reasonable price", failing which "we will come and get you" , threatened Peter Navarro, economic adviser to the executive.
