Damascus-Sana
In light of the crocodile tears shed by a number of Western governments on the Syrians, it continues to impose its unilateral economic coercive measures on the Syrian people, which affect life in general, especially the rental of drugs and medical supplies that they most need today, with the announcement of the first registration of the infection of the Corona virus yesterday.
The economic blockade exposes Western regimes that claim concern for the Syrian people and a sense of their suffering while ignoring the urgent need for medical materials and tightening their coercive measures on it, as Ghassan Haider, a resident of Damascus, saw.
While Mustafa al-Kurdi, a professor at one of the city's schools, described the lifting of the economic measures imposed on the Syrian people as necessary more than ever to buy basic equipment and supplies necessary to address the pandemic affecting most of the world.
Mamoun Al-Fareej mentioned that the economic blockade caused the cost of medical materials and sterilizers to increase and cost them to the citizens. He said: Although our country is producing some medical materials, it does not meet the increasing demand in light of the current situation.
Ethics and humanity require the lifting of the siege on the Syrian people, but the governments of some western countries lack these values and their primary goal is to subjugate peoples to their will, in the words of Hassan Al-Sattam, which is agreed upon by Marwan Ali, who said that the continuation of the unjust siege exposes the falsehood of Western allegations with his concern for the Syrian people.
For his part, Wael Aloun indicated that lifting the siege is a humanitarian issue that affects the lives of an entire people, while Amin Ali said: Let them stop crying and lift the coercive measures.
The United States of America and a number of European countries continue to impose illegal unilateral restrictive measures on a number of countries, some of which suffer greatly from the outbreak of the Corona virus in flagrant violation of human rights and the most basic human values and principles.
In a statement issued on March 19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to respect the principles of international humanitarian law and the sanctity of human life and work to lift unilateral and coercive measures immediately and unconditionally, in light of the escalating dangers posed by the Corona virus and international alert to confront this epidemic.
