INTERVIEW - For the mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris and LR candidate for municipal elections, this is not the time for controversy concerning the management of the crisis.


LE FIGARO. - Does the crisis seem to you to be well managed?

Rachida DATI. - The moment is not for controversy but to protect and reassure the French. However, we must take stock of this crisis and learn from it. We owe it to the French, to all caregivers and to all those who continue to work every day in difficult conditions. I also think of all these victims who are counted every day. These are not numbers; these are women and men that we must not forget.

And at the level of the town hall of Paris?

The town hall of Paris has powers and prerogatives but it does not exercise them. Anne Hidalgo could act and take over the protection of the inhabitants. In Cannes, the mayor, David Lisnard, has set up daily disinfection operations for public spaces and street furniture! Why does the city of Paris not act in certain districts where a minority which does not respect confinement endangers the whole population?
