Berlin (dpa) - In Germany, more than 52 100 infections with the new corona virus have been registered by Saturday afternoon.
This emerges from an evaluation of the German Press Agency, which takes into account the reported numbers of the federal states.
North Rhine-Westphalia has particularly high numbers with more than 12,700 proven cases and 105 deaths, Bavaria with at least 11,800 cases and 85 deaths and Baden-Württemberg with more than 9729 cases and 101 deaths. Calculated per 100,000 inhabitants, Hamburg has the highest number of infections with a value of 105.1, compared to 62.7 in the national average.
To date, more than 366 people infected with Sars-CoV-2 have died nationwide. In addition, several Germans died abroad in connection with a corona infection. Among them were two tourists during a trip to Egypt and a 67-year-old tourist in Cyprus. A 42-year-old German died on the Greek island of Crete.
