Since the corona virus has spread, people have been hoarding disinfectants and protective masks. This could be a problem for old people's homes, social services and hospitals.

Landkreis - "The situation with the material is shit," says Rafael Suslow, managing director of the Marthashofen Altenwerk in Grafrath - deliberates and emphasizes: "Yes, just shit."

The supplier had transferred the disinfectant. "Fortunately, we get emergency equipment from a company in Emmering." Suslow's only consolation: because visitors are not coming at the moment, consumption has decreased. Nevertheless, the emergency delivery in Emmeringen will only help over the next two months, says Suslow. After that, be open as to how to proceed. It looks even worse with the mouthguard: "You can make calls to your mouth on foot."

Birgit Weiß, district manager of Caritas, is similarly concerned. "We still have disinfectants," she says. Replenishment is difficult to get. Patients in the mobile nursing service are currently canceling personal care appointments on their own initiative. But many aid services cannot simply be hired. "These employees have to be protected."

All necessary medicines, disinfectants and protective masks are available in the Fürstenfeldbruck district clinic, says Alfons Groitl from the clinic's board. And orders have been placed. But: "Products are only allocated rationed by the suppliers," says Groitl. You would get enough disinfectant. With the protective masks, however, the supply will be used up in the foreseeable future should the number of inpatient corona patients increase.

In the Josefstift der Arbeiterwohlfahrt in Fürstenfeldbruck, you adapt to the situation as best you can. There are currently no group offers and only individual support for residents.

Aid workers are unsettled not only because of the supply problems, as Rafael Suslow of the Altenwerk Marthashofen says. "The nurses are sent into the unknown," he says and praises them that they are nevertheless performing their duties reliably. "But you have a lot of questions, we talk to you a lot."
