Allocate the thoracic division at Al-Basel Hospital in Tartous as a special wing for medical isolation

The General Authority of Al-Bassel Hospital in Tartous devoted its thoracic division as a special wing for medical isolation and management of Corona virus infections in the event of any infection being recorded, and was provided with the medical and nursing staff and the necessary equipment.

The Director General of the Authority, Dr. Iskandar Ammar, stated in a statement to the SANA correspondent that the department accommodates 45 patients and is attached to the intensive care department that can accommodate 16 patients, stressing that the wing and care can be expanded in case of need.

Ammar pointed out that the hospital took the necessary measures some time ago to tackle the Corona virus, stressing that there is no hospital suspected of having the virus until today.

The hospital director pointed out that the daily sterilization campaigns for the departments, the people and all the hospital facilities are carried out periodically according to the programs set within the infection control policy, in addition to distributing awareness brochures about the Corona virus and ways to address it.
