Military technology

Aerospace division members made a quick transition, building a medical development that would disinfect entire rooms in minutes through UVC technology

The corona virus that is rampant in Israel and around the world has led to the mobilization of the various security agencies, which are daily involved in the construction of such and other military technologies. In the aerospace division, too, they decided not to stay aside, and to make a very quick retreat in favor of the Corona war.

"We made a decision to try to address the problem from our direction, so we began a search of scientific research to see how rooms can be cleansed," says my father, a new development initiator. The aviation division found a study in which it was determined that viruses could be eradicated using violet technology (UVC) - wavelengths transmitted in the room and cleaned by bacteria and viruses.

The venture, which was just a week and a half ago, quickly creams skin and tendons. "We consulted with senior doctors and got a green light to continue. They understood what we wanted to do and thought it was a good idea," says my father. In just a week, the aerospace industry purchased raw materials and built the system, including preliminary experiments. Last weekend they transferred the project to Assaf Harofeh Hospital for clinical trials. Once the results arrive, the company will be able to start producing systems within a week that will clean entire rooms in a time range of 10 minutes to half an hour.

"The system disintegrates everything it sees, like a table lamp illuminating what it can in the hidden corners, but no doctors or patients get there. The work can be done by chemical means. The system can be mounted on a robot so that the purification is done autonomously. You can take a robot that will clean a large center, let it work all night and in the morning everything will be cleansed, "concludes my father.

Prof. Shai Efrati, Director of Hyperbaric Pressure Institute and Nephrology Institute Shamir Assaf Doctor Hospital: "The aerospace industry development team is committed to developing their means we need these days. The first development that came to fruition for the first time today is a device that gives UV-length A certain wave that allows the elimination of any pollutant in the environment. "

"With this product we can actually disinfect work surfaces and dialysis machines in existing patient-to-patient intervals. Our medical staff and patients are very grateful for the collaboration and in the near future we will probably see further developments that we can use in the clinic. Of the people of Israel, "Prof. Efrati added.
